A variable friction version of the ATC which can be used in either direction. Now 30% lighter than the original thanks to an updated construction and machined windows through the body!
When using narrow ropes (eg 8mm), the grooves give extra friction making falls easier to hold and abseils not so frightening.
A more substantial cable than many belay plates, and superb smoothness in use - an excellent belay plate - probably the best all-rounder on the market.
Accepts ropes from 7.7mm to 11mm.
